Napoleon took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Defiance Bulldogs. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.
Napoleon took Defiance into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22, 21-25, 20-25, 15-7.
Ava Good paced Napoleon's offense, picking up 15 kills. Good got some help from Taylor Borton and her 17 assists. Baylee Lamming controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Napoleon is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Wauseon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Defiance, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Ottawa-Glandorf at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
