Volleyball Recap: Bonanza Bengals vs. Durango Trailblazers

Bonanza lost against Durango back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bengals fell just short of the Trailblazers by a score of 3-2. The Bengals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bonanza actually scored more points across those five sets (106-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-22, 17-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Michael Wienand paced Bonanza's offense, picking up 21 kills. Wienand got some help from Matthew Oh and his 23 assists. Wienand was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Bonanza's record now sits at 9-13. As for Durango, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-18.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bonanza will challenge rival Doral Academy Red Rock at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Durango is set to face off against their familiar foe Sunrise Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
