Basketball Recap: Chadwick Cardinals vs. Macks Creek Pirates
After flying high against the Hurley Tigers last Monday, the Chadwick Cardinals came back down to earth. Chadwick ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-43 walloping at the hands of the Pirates on Tuesday. Chadwick was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-15.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Macks Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than India Willis, who almost dropped a triple-double on 26 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Willis posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Ratliff, who scored 23 points.
Chadwick's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Macks Creek, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Chadwick will play host again and welcome the Patriots, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. School of the Ozarks will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Cardinals are ranked 94th). Macks Creek is on the road again on Monday and plays the Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th.
