Football Preview: Council Lumberjacks vs. Salmon River Savages        
        
		
             Council and Salmon River are an even 5-5 against one another  since October of 2014, but  not for long. The Council Lumberjacks will head out on the road to  face off against  the Salmon River Savages  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Council will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
 Last Friday, Council didn't have too much trouble with Cascade on the road   as they won  30-14.
 Council was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 413  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 193  rushing yards in seven consecutive  contests.
 Council didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Jim Tucker.
 Meanwhile, Salmon River came into Friday's   game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with  a   30-22  victory over Horseshoe Bend  on Friday.
 Council's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Salmon River, their victory  ended  a  seven-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 3-4.
 Everything came up roses for Council against Salmon River when the teams last played  back in October of 2023, as the  squad secured  a  39-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Council since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
