Papillion-LaVista took a 22-point defeat the last time they faced off against Westview, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Papillion-LaVista Monarchs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-45 victory over the Westview Wolverines on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Monarchs have posted since February 9, 2024.

Papillion-LaVista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryce Vigness led the charge by going 6-for-7 to rack up 14 points. Vigness is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 67% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was DeMarcus McCarty, who shot 42% from the field en route to 14 points and eight boards.

Papillion-LaVista has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points over those games. The loss snapped Westview's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 22-3 record.
