Soccer Game Preview: Anderson vs. Melvindale

The Anderson Titans will face off against the Melvindale Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Anderson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Anderson is headed into Thursday's game following a draw, the team's first since April 3. Neither they nor Allen Park could gain the upper hand on Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Melvindale came tearing into Wednesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1.

Melvindale's win bumped their record up to 12-4. Anderson's draw makes their record 2-6-2 this season.

Everything went Anderson's way against Melvindale when the teams last played back in April of 2019, as Anderson made off with an 8-0 victory. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
