Volleyball Recap: Ruston Beats Haughton for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Ruston entered their tilt with Haughton on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Buccaneers with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Bearcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ruston walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16, 25-11.

Their offense was headlined by Baylor Cauley and Jane Ramsey, who picked up four kills apiece. Cauley really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with two. Brooklyn Bissell controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Ruston's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Haughton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. After both having extra time off, Ruston and Jackson Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Haughton, they will head out to square off against Benton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
