Baseball Recap: Providence School Comes Up Short

Providence School fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Bartram Trail on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 7-6. The Stallions' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Luke Manderson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since March 1st. Another player making a difference was Landis Pickett, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Providence School's record is now 11-7. As for Bartram Trail, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Looking ahead, Providence School will venture away from home to challenge Episcopal School of Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Providence School 3.9, Episcopal School of Jacksonville 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Bartram Trail, they will welcome Fleming Island at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
