Basketball Recap: Memorial Triumphs

Memorial won the last time they faced Edison and things went their way on Saturday too. The Memorial Chargers managed a 62-58 win over the Edison Eagles. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Chargers were down 51-36 in the third quarter.

It was another big night for Mataya Hall, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. The match was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trinity Germany, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Memorial smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Memorial's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Edison, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

When Memorial and Edison next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Memorial will try to stop Will Rogers College's five-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Edison will try to stop Coweta's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
