Football Recap: Glynn Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Glynn Academy was riding high fresh off their 28-2 takedown of South Effingham two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Terrors fell just short of the Effingham County Rebels by a score of 45-42 on Friday. The close contest was extra heartbreaking for the Terrors, who almost overcame a 25 point deficit.

Effingham County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tucker Perkins, who threw for 127 yards and two TDs on perfect 6-for-6 passing, and also rushed for 37 yards. Those 37 rushing yards gave Perkins a new career-high. Jmere Doe-Davis was another key rusher, rushing for 92 yards.

Glynn Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Effingham County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Glynn Academy will face off against Greenbrier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Terrors will be up against the Wolfpack's rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.22 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Effingham County, they will square off against Statesboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels' defense better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 28.8 points per game this season.
