Basketball Recap: Fayetteville Academy Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

Fayetteville Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They managed a 70-64 win over the Gaston Day Spartans on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

When it comes to explaining why Gaston Day lost, don't look at Deshawn Coulter. Despite the final result, he posted 22 points and seven boards. That's the most points Coulter has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dyson Britt, who put up ten points.

Fayetteville Academy pushed their record up to 23-9 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.1 points over those games. As for Gaston Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-11.

Fayetteville Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-56 loss against The Burlington School on the 15th. Gaston Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
