On Monday Ian Alvey didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. The performance also marked the fewest earned runs (zero) Alvey has had since back in April of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with more than six strikeouts. On the season, he has an ERA of 2.50 over 14 innings pitched.

Alvey's strong effort led Alta over Highland and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
