Basketball Recap: South Fork Comes Up Short

South Fork lost against Rancho Cotate back in December of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The South Fork Cubs took a blow against the Rancho Cotate Cougars, falling 92-54. The game marked the Cubs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Rancho Cotate got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Adam Pengel out in front who went 10 for 15 on his way to 24 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Izayah Rush, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 17 points and five steals.

With the loss, South Fork broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2. As for Rancho Cotate, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

South Fork will take on Willits in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rancho Cotate and Sonoma Valley will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Rancho Cotate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.5 points per game this season.
