Basketball Game Preview: Grand Prairie Gophers vs. Martin Warriors

The Grand Prairie Gophers are taking a road trip to square off against the Martin Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Grand Prairie will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Grand Prairie strolled past Bowie with points to spare, taking the game 48-32.

Meanwhile, Martin didn't have too much trouble with Lamar on Tuesday as they won 64-46. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Vikings are ranked 571st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grand Prairie is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Martin, their record now sits at 17-12.

Grand Prairie strolled past Martin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 48-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grand Prairie since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
