Volleyball Recap: Silver Stage Comes Up Short

Silver Stage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Sierra Lutheran Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 3rd.

Silver Stage started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-10.

Noelani Puaauli paced Silver Stage's offense, picking up four kills. Puaauli got some help from Robin Smith and her two assists. Lauren Broughton controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Silver Stage's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Sierra Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Silver Stage will challenge rival Battle Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sierra Lutheran is set to square off against their familiar foe West Wendover at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
