Football Recap: Illinois C Comes Up Short

The matchup between Illinois C and Lake Station Edison on Friday hardly resembled the 22-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Crusaders had to suffer through a 55-10 loss at the hands of the Fighting Eagles. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-0.

Oscar Alderson had a dynamite game For Lake Station Edison., rushing for 173 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, while also picking up 63 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Those 173 rushing yards gave Alderson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was David Parker, who threw for 122 yards and three touchdowns on only five passes.

This is the second loss in a row for Illinois C and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Lake Station Edison, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Illinois C will take on Non Varsity Opponent at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lake Station Edison, they will face off against Bowman Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
