Basketball Recap: Marysville-Pilchuck Comes Up Short

Marysville-Pilchuck was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 78-22 defeat at the hands of the Monroe Bearcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 79-37 back in January.

Michael Rangel-smathers was Marysville-Pilchuck's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Rangel-smathers also led the team in assists with two. Michael Taylor held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Marysville-Pilchuck's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Monroe, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

Marysville-Pilchuck didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-54 defeat against Sehome on the 11th. As for Monroe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-40 loss against Edmonds-Woodway on the 10th.
