Westbrook-Walnut Grove gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Springfield Tigers. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

One reason for the win was Westbrook-Walnut Grove's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-11.

Leah Carter paced Westbrook-Walnut Grove's offense, picking up 13 kills. Carter got some help from Hadley Jenniges and her 32 assists. Jenniges was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Westbrook-Walnut Grove will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Yellow Medicine East at 7:00 p.m. After both having extra time off, Springfield and Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
