Jordan Del Rio leads TERRA Environmental to victory over Ferguson

Recap: TERRA Environmental vs. Ferguson Falcons

TERRA Environmental waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Ferguson by a score of 68-61. Given TERRA Environmental's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Ferguson is ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jordan Del Rio was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with three steals. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Nick Merlo was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Ferguson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Gonzalez. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points along with four steals and two blocks. Gonzalez hasn't dropped below 15 points for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Vazquez, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.

TERRA Environmental has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Ferguson, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

TERRA Environmental will look to defend their home court on Monday against South Miami at 7:30 p.m. As for Ferguson, they will face off against Somerset Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Averaging 69 so far this season, Somerset Academy's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Ferguson better be ready for a challenge.
