Softball Recap: New London's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

New London had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 21-7 margin over the Plymouth Big Red. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.

Hailee Pylant and Olivia Yetter did most of the damage at the plate: Pylant went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, three runs, and one double, while Yetter got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases Yetter has posted since back in May of 2024. Natalie Weaver was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: New London kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.

New London's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Plymouth, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
