Baseball Game Preview: Republic Tigers vs. Kickapoo Chiefs

The Republic Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Kickapoo Chiefs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Republic has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 14th.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Republic's offense. They came up short against Joplin on Tuesday, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, Kickapoo is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Bentonville. The Chiefs put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering the Chiefs have won six games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kickapoo's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Republic, their loss dropped their record down to 6-17.

Republic suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Kickapoo in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
