Baseball Game Preview: Maspeth Argos vs. Kennedy

The Maspeth Argos are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Maspeth is leaving town to face Kennedy after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Argos fell just short of Townsend Harris by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The Argos have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Maspeth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Cohen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with six stolen bases and two runs. Another was Kirlos Azer, who earned two runs and four stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Kennedy came up short against Queens Teaching two weeks ago, falling 11-4.

Maspeth beat Kennedy 6-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Do the Argos have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kennedy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
