Fairview took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Russell, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles skirted past the Red Devils 4-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 14, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Fairview's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-12. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.
