            Softball Recap: Manteca Buffaloes vs. Yuba City Honkers        
        
		
        
        
            Manteca put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout  on Saturday. They never let the Yuba City Honkers get on the board and left with  a   3-0  victory.

 Isabel Tonna tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only two  hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those  11  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high.
 On the hitting side,  Sienna Owen and  Ayva Wilkins did most of the damage at the plate:  Owen  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with two  stolen bases, while  Wilkins  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and one  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  Wilkins has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was  Jocelyn Baptist, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  double.
Manteca's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Yuba City,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at 11 games  and leaves them with a 12-3-1 record.
 Manteca and Yuba City should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Buffaloes will  square off against  Patterson  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday with a big rank  advantage  (145 vs. 336). Meanwhile,  Yuba City (ranked 125th) will meet Nevada Union (ranked 814th)  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
