Baseball Preview: Boyle County Rebels vs. Washington County Commanders

The Boyle County Rebels will head out on the road to take on the Washington County Commanders at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Boyle County will be strutting in after a win while Washington County will be coming in after a loss.

Boyle County can't be too worried about heading out to take on Washington County: they just beat Campbellsville at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. Boyle County blew past Campbellsville 11-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Boyle County.

Landon Parnass tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Boyle County got a big performance out of Austin Bodner, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Marsee, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Washington County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Marion County by a score of 12-11.

Boyle County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. As for Washington County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11-1.
