Football Recap: Pisgah Beats Puckett for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Pisgah extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-0. They put the hurt on the Puckett Wolves with a sharp 26-6 win. That's more bragging rights for the Dragons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Pisgah had a senior duo take command as Ryder White rushed for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns and Tavorian Smith rushed for 91 yards and one TD on only nine carries. White is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 115 every time he's taken the field this season. Joe Nichols made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Pisgah was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 232 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Pisgah didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Nichols picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Puckett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3. Wolves fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Pisgah since Friday.

Despite the loss, Puckett saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lance Loveless rushed for 67 yards and one score. Loveless was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards.

Pisgah didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-6 defeat against Richland on the 26th. As for Puckett, they have also already played their next contest, a 51-26 loss against Bogue Chitto on the 26th.
