Andrews came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Friona Chieftans. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Andrews' win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Friona, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Andrews and Friona should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Mustangs will challenge Estacado at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (144 vs. 877). Meanwhile, Friona (ranked 459th) will meet Tahoka (ranked 1132nd) at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
