Basketball Recap: Arlington's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Arlington had lost three straight headed into Tuesday's game, but Kallie Marsh didn't let it get to four. The Arlington Tigers escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Harding Academy Lions by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45 thanks in part to Marsh, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. Marsh is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Harding Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brynne Miller went 8 of 10 on her way to 16 points and eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Rose Austin, who posted 12 points.

Arlington's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Harding Academy, they dropped their record down to 5-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Arlington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-52 loss against Houston on the 19th. As for Harding Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 49-40 win against Memphis Central on the 20th.
