Baseball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin easily dispatched Smoky Mountain on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Panthers fell just short of the West Henderson Falcons by a score of 13-11 on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Brayden Greenwood was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs and three RBI while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunner McConnell, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for West Henderson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season.

While Franklin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
