Baseball Recap: Connersville Comes Up Short

Connersville lost against East Central back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spartans fell 15-11 to the Trojans. Even though they lost, the Spartans' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Brayden Keller and Aaron Kidd did some serious damage despite the final result: Keller went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Kidd went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Keller's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Zander McHenry, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Connersville's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for East Central, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Coming up, Connersville will venture away from home to face off against Union County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. East Central will be paying especially close attention to Connersville's game: after Connersville faces off against Union County, they'll take on East Central again at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
