Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newberry). They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Trenton Tigers on Monday. The result was nothing new for Newberry, who have now won five matches by six goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Trenton from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Lucas Nowels led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for five goals all by himself.

The win made it two in a row for Newberry and bumps their season record up to 8-4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Trenton, they dropped their record down to 0-11-1 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Newberry will be home for the holidays to greet Dixie County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Trenton, they will venture away from home to square off against P.K. Yonge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
