The Walnut Hills Eagles had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They managed a 48-42 win over Turpin. Given Walnut Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Turpin is ranked 218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Turpin had strong showings from Sophia Schiano, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Josie Carrelli, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Lauren Dornheggen was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Walnut Hills' win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Turpin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
