Basketball Recap: Baldwyn Comes Up Short

Baldwyn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Pontotoc Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Cougars are ranked 40th).

Baldwyn's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for South Pontotoc, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Baldwyn has already played their next game, a 57-26 defeat against Biggersville on the 24th. As for South Pontotoc, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-26 win against Bruce on the 24th.
