Recap: Soquel Knights vs. Oakwood Hawks
The Soquel Knights are still winless after their matchup against the Oakwood Hawks on Wednesday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Soquel fell just short of Oakwood by a score of 63-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Soquel still got an impressive performance from Peyton Bortz, who scored 24 points. The game was Bortz's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Ramirez , who scored 19 points.
Soquel's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Oakwood, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Skyline the next time they take the court. Soquel will head out to face Skyline at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Oakwood will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
