Recap: Borah Lions vs. Timberline Wolves
The Borah Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Timberline. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Borah in their matchups with Timberline: they've now lost eight in a row.
Timberline's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grace Mertes led the charge by shooting 5-for-7 from downtown and almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmi Swillie, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Borah has not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Timberline, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.
Borah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Timberline's road trip will continue as they head out to face Owyhee at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully Timberline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
