Volleyball Recap: Greeley West Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Greeley West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Fossil Ridge SaberCats, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-9, 25-7.

Nairis Benitez Gutierrez paced Greeley West's offense, picking up three kills. Benitez Gutierrez got some help from Mya Salazar and her seven assists. Finally, Valeria Calzada kept Greeley West's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Fossil Ridge was led to victory by Trinity Burchett and Shanin Pottle. Burchett had 15 digs and three assists, while Pottle had nine digs. Those nine digs gave Pottle a new career-high.

Greeley West's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Fossil Ridge, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Greeley West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Windsor on the 30th. As for Fossil Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Millennium on the 26th.
