Recap: Midway Panthers vs. Boswell Pioneers

It was a good run, but the Midway Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 66-42 walloping at the hands of Boswell. While losing is never fun, Midway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Boswell is ranked sixth).

Camille Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Boswell, scoring 27 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The contest was Williams' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Salena Carrasco was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.

Midway's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-10. As for Boswell, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midway and Bryan will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bryan will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Boswell's road trip will continue as they head out to face Paschal at 6:30 p.m. on January 2nd. Paschal is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
