Preview: Greece Athena vs. Irondequoit
Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Greece Athena should expect quite the challenge on Saturday. They take on Irondequoit at 2:00 PM. With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the win.
Greece Athena didn't have too much trouble with Brighton last week as they won 30-14. Senior Lorcen Miller, who rushed for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Greece Athena's success. In fact, with 12 tackles Miller was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Irondequoit gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener. They were able to grind out a solid victory over Eastridge, winning 21-10.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Greece Athena and Irondequoit clash.
