Basketball Recap: West Columbus Comes Up Short

After soaring to 64 points the game before, West Columbus was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They were dealt a 67-20 loss at the hands of the West Bladen Knights. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leading West Bladen to victory were Chase Williams and Hezekiah Adams. Williams posted 17 points, while Adams had 15 points. The match was Williams' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Keonta Hill, who put up eight points.

West Columbus' defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6. As for West Bladen, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

West Columbus will challenge Whiteville at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for West Bladen, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hoke County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. West Bladen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Hoke County likes a good challenge.
