Union County hadn't done well against Pickens recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Panthers came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 2-0. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Union County easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-12.

Reese Jones paced Union County's offense, picking up seven kills. Jones got some help from Kamryn Brown and her 15 assists. Brown and Jones didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

With the win, Union County broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Pickens, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union County will venture away from home to square off against Stephens County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pickens, they will head out to face off against North Hall at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
