Preview: Lynn English Bulldogs vs. Brockton Boxers
Having just played yesterday, the Lynn English Bulldogs will get right back to it and host the Brockton Boxers at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Lynn English knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 matches -- so hopefully Brockton likes a good challenge.
Lynn English put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They breezed by Malden at home to the tune of 73-44. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-15.
Carmelo Buese continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Denzell Guillen, who scored eight points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Brockton pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Durfee.
Lynn English is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Brockton, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
