Marksville beats Buckeye for their second straight win

Recap: Marksville Tigers vs. Buckeye Panthers

The Marksville Tigers won against the Buckeye Panthers last Thursday with 56 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Marksville came out on top against Buckeye by a score of 56-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Marksville.

Kyreon Prier was his usual excellent self, rushing for 302 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.7 yards per carry. Marksville also got a significant boost from Elidrick Murray, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 118 yards.

Buckeye's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adam Brodnax, who threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Kolt Vercher, who rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns.

Marksville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Buckeye, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.

Marksville will head out on the road to face off against Bunkie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Buckeye, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Jena at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Jena's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four contests.
