Warde is 1-7 against Ludlowe since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Mustangs will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Falcons at 4:00 p.m.
On Saturday, Warde didn't have quite enough to beat Staples and fell 3-2. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wreckers 25-19 in the first set.
Warde took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-20, 15-13.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Ludlowe sidestepped Staples for a 3-2 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted against the Wreckers since May 2, 2022.
Ludlowe had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-18, 15-8.
Warde now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Ludlowe, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Warde beat Ludlowe 3-1 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
