Soccer Game Preview: Walled Lake Western vs. Hamtramck

The Walled Lake Western Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Hamtramck Cosmos at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Walled Lake Western is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Monday, they were much more limited against Berkley on Saturday. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Walled Lake Western can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Berkley are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Hamtramck kept a clean sheet against Detroit Cristo Rey on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over the WOLVES. The result was nothing new for Hamtramck, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Hamtramck has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those nine matchups. As for Walled Lake Western, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-2.
