Mankato West came into Saturday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 68-67 win over the St. Peter Saints. The Scarlets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mankato West's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for St. Peter, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mankato West will take on Austin in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Peter and Jackson County Central will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Peter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Jackson County Central likes a good challenge.
