Basketball Recap: Lakeland Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lake City, Lakeland was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 67-54 victory over the Shadle Park Highlanders. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 70th in Idaho, while the Highlanders are ranked 249th in Washington), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lakeland's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Shadle Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Lakeland will face off against Century at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shadle Park and Moses Lake will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
