Basketball Recap: Moorhead Takes a Loss

Moorhead lost against Brainerd on December 5th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Moorhead Spuds came up short against the Brainerd Warriors, falling 70-45. While losing is never fun, the Spuds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Warriors are ranked 46th).

Moorhead's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Brainerd, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Moorhead and Osseo will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Brainerd will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Robbinsdale Cooper at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Brainerd knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Robbinsdale Cooper likes a good challenge.
