Baseball Recap: Reading Comes Up Short

Reading had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 7-16 to make it four. They came up short against the Indian Hill Braves, falling 10-0. If the Blue Devils were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Braves when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Reading saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JT Disbennett, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Indian Hill, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3. Their pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four matchups.

On Indian Hill's side, Noah Coffman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Coffman was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, Parker Stagge looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Devian Daniel was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Ashton Graham was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

While Reading had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
