Softball Recap: Everglades City Comes Up Short

Everglades City blew Mason Classical Academy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Mason Classical Academy got their revenge. The Everglades City Gators fell just short of the Mason Classical Academy Paladins by a score of 9-7. It was the first time this season that the Gators let down their fans at home.

Olivia Demere made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Gena Collins also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Everglades City fell to 3-1. As for Mason Classical Academy, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everglades City is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Dunbar at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mason Classical Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Community School of Naples at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th.
