Basketball Recap: Pinson Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Pinson Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Florence Falcons. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Indians came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Falcons are ranked 185th).

Despite the loss, Pinson Valley still got an impressive performance from Jalen 'JP' Pritchett, who posted 15 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Taylen 'Tay' Johnson was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Pinson Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Florence, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-10.

Pinson Valley and Shelbyville Central will round out the year against one another at 11:00 a.m. on the 26th. Florence and Mae Jemison will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
